These 3-ingredient pastry flowers are a beautiful and easy-to-make dessert or snack. Made with puff pastry, your favorite jam, and a dusting of powdered sugar, they’re as elegant as they are simple.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 3 tablespoons fruit jam (such as strawberry, raspberry, or apricot)
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet slightly on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Cut the pastry into squares (about 3×3 inches each).
  4. Place a small dollop (about 1/2 tsp) of jam in the center of each square.
  5. Using a sharp knife, make diagonal cuts from each corner toward the center, stopping short of the jam.
  6. Fold every other corner tip toward the center to form a pinwheel or flower shape, pressing lightly to seal.
  7. Transfer to baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden and puffed.
  8. Allow to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • Be sure the puff pastry is well-chilled before baking for best results.
  • You can use Nutella or lemon curd instead of jam for variation.
  • Dust with cinnamon sugar for a spiced twist.
