Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1/2 lb ground pork
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 egg
1 slice white bread (soaked in water or milk and squeezed out)
1 tbsp mustard
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp paprika
1–2 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)
Oil for frying
Instructions
In a large bowl, mix ground beef, ground pork, chopped onion, egg, soaked bread, mustard, salt, pepper, paprika, and parsley (if using).
Knead the mixture until well combined and smooth.
Shape the mixture into palm-sized patties, slightly flattened.
Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
Fry the Frikadellen for about 5–7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Serve hot with your choice of sides like potatoes, salad, or bread.
Notes
Letting the patties rest before frying helps them hold their shape.
You can use just ground beef if pork is not available.
Soaked bread helps keep the patties moist and tender.
Adjust seasoning to taste, especially salt and mustard.
