This Baked Crunchy Hot Honey Chicken is the perfect combination of crispy, juicy chicken and a sweet-spicy hot honey sauce. Coated in crunchy cornflakes and baked to golden perfection, it’s an easy weeknight dinner the whole family will love!

Ingredients

  • For the Chicken:
  • 2 cups crushed cornflakes
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce
  • 1 lb chicken breast tenderloins
  • Olive oil for drizzling
  • For the Hot Honey Sauce:
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp chipotle chili powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • Fresh herbs (thyme, cilantro, or parsley) for serving

Instructions

  • Prep the Coating:
  • Crush cornflakes and mix with parmesan, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Dredge the Chicken:
  • Dip chicken in a mixture of beaten eggs and hot sauce, then coat in the cornflake mixture. For a thicker crust, dip the chicken back into the egg and crumbs for a second coat.
  • Bake the Chicken:
  • Arrange chicken on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 25 minutes until golden and crispy.
  • Make the Hot Honey Sauce:
  • While chicken bakes, combine honey, hot sauce, cayenne, chipotle chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and sea salt in a saucepan. Warm over low heat.
  • Finish and Serve:
  • Drizzle hot honey sauce over the baked chicken and garnish with fresh herbs. Serve and enjoy!
