  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil.
  • Prepare Chicken: Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness, about ¼-inch thick.
  • Stuff with Cheese: Place shredded mozzarella in the center of each chicken breast and roll it up tightly. Secure with toothpicks if needed.
  • Coat the Rolls: In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Dip each chicken roll in the beaten egg, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Bake: Place the coated chicken rolls in the prepared baking dish. Drizzle with olive oil. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  • Add Marinara: Remove from the oven and spoon warm marinara sauce over each roll. Sprinkle extra mozzarella on top, then bake for another 5 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  • Garnish & Serve: Remove toothpicks, garnish with fresh basil, and serve hot with pasta or salad.

Notes

  • Use fresh mozzarella for extra melty goodness.
  • For a crispier coating, lightly toast the breadcrumbs before coating the chicken.
  • Serve with garlic bread and a side of roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
