A rich and indulgent dessert made with ripe bananas, caramel sauce, and toasted pecans, all cooked in one pot for a quick and flavorful treat inspired by the classic Bananas Foster.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: vanilla ice cream for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
  2. Add brown sugar and stir until dissolved and bubbly.
  3. Stir in heavy cream, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla extract. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  4. Add sliced bananas and chopped pecans, gently stirring to coat them in the caramel sauce.
  5. Cook for 2–3 more minutes, just until bananas are softened but not mushy.
  6. Remove from heat and serve warm over vanilla ice cream or as desired.

Notes

  • Use ripe but firm bananas to avoid them falling apart in the sauce.
  • Toast pecans beforehand for extra flavor.
  • Can be made alcohol-free or optionally flambéed with rum for an authentic twist.
