Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 cups cooked white or brown rice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Sesame seeds (optional), for garnish

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Add the sliced beef and marinate for 15-20 minutes.
  • Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the beef with marinade and stir-fry until the beef starts to brown, about 3-4 minutes. Remove beef from skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the sliced bell peppers and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  • Return the beef to the skillet, toss with the peppers, and cook for another 2 minutes to combine flavors. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • Serve the beef and peppers over warm cooked rice. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • Use sirloin or flank steak for tender beef strips.
  • Substitute bell peppers with any favorite vegetables like snap peas or broccoli.
  • For a spicy kick, add chili flakes or Sriracha sauce.
