With minimal prep and maximum flavor, this dump cake is a simple yet irresistible dessert for any occasion. Just dump the ingredients, bake, and enjoy a warm, sweet treat that’s perfect with a scoop of ice cream!

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (15 oz each) of peaches in syrup, drained (or fresh peaches, sliced)
  • 1 box of yellow cake mix (or vanilla cake mix)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (for serving, optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Spread the drained peaches evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. If you’re using fresh peaches, simply slice them and place them in the dish.
  • Evenly sprinkle the dry cake mix over the peaches. Do not mix it in.
  • Drizzle the melted butter over the top of the cake mix, making sure it’s evenly distributed.
  • If using, sprinkle ground cinnamon over the top and add chopped nuts for some added crunch.
  • Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly around the edges.
  • Let the dump cake cool for a few minutes before serving.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

Notes

  • You can add a little sugar if the peaches aren’t sweet enough, especially when using fresh peaches.
  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or a splash of vanilla extract with the peaches.
  • This recipe is very versatile; you can swap peaches for other fruits like cherries, blueberries, or apples.
