All the flavors of a classic Big Mac — seasoned beef, cheese, lettuce, pickles, and special sauce — served in a fresh, low-carb salad form.

Ingredients

  • For the salad:
  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 6 cups chopped romaine lettuce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced pickles
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1 cup halved cherry tomatoes (optional)
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
  • For the “special sauce” dressing:
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon pickle juice (from the jar)
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until browned. Drain excess fat and set aside to cool slightly.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together all dressing ingredients until smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  • In a large salad bowl, layer lettuce, cooked beef, cheese, pickles, onion, and tomatoes if using.
  • Drizzle with the special sauce dressing and toss lightly.
  • Sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving, if desired.

Notes

  • For a healthier version, use lean ground turkey or chicken.
  • Make it keto-friendly by using sugar-free ketchup and mayo.
  • Assemble just before serving to keep lettuce crisp.
