Soft, fluffy blueberry rolls filled with sweet cream cheese and a tangy blueberry swirl, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup whole milk, warm
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar (for filling)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Optional glaze: 1/2 cup powdered sugar + 1-2 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, 1/2 cup sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add melted butter, eggs, and salt. Gradually mix in the flour and knead until a soft, elastic dough forms.
  3. Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  4. While the dough rises, make the blueberry filling: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine blueberries, 1/3 cup sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice. Cook until thickened. Let cool completely.
  5. Make the cream cheese filling: Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  6. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  7. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough, then spoon the cooled blueberry filling on top.
  8. Roll the dough tightly from the long edge and slice into 12 equal rolls.
  9. Arrange the rolls in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise again for 30–45 minutes until puffy.
  10. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25–30 minutes, until golden brown on top.
  11. Optional: Mix powdered sugar and milk to create a glaze and drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
