This Butterfinger Puppy Chow is a fun twist on the classic snack mix, combining Chex cereal, peanut butter, chocolate, and crushed Butterfinger candy for a sweet and crunchy treat perfect for parties or gifting.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup crushed Butterfinger candy bars

Instructions

  1. Place the Rice Chex cereal in a large mixing bowl and set aside.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the milk chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the mixture is melted and smooth.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the chocolate mixture over the Chex cereal and gently stir until the cereal is evenly coated.
  5. Transfer the coated cereal into a large resealable plastic bag or container with a lid.
  6. Add the powdered sugar and shake until all the cereal pieces are coated.
  7. Spread the mixture out on a baking sheet to cool.
  8. Once cool, mix in the crushed Butterfinger pieces.
  9. Store in an airtight container until ready to serve.

  • Make sure the cereal is fully coated before adding powdered sugar for even coverage.
  • You can crush Butterfingers using a food processor or by placing them in a ziplock bag and smashing with a rolling pin.
