Ingredients

  • 10 cups mini pretzel twists (about 1 standard bag)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking sodaA

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Spread pretzels evenly over the prepared baking sheet.
  • In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar and corn syrup. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, then boil for 3 minutes without stirring.
  • Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and baking soda — the mixture will foam up.
  • Immediately pour the toffee mixture over the pretzels, stirring to coat as evenly as possible.
  • Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even coating.
  • Remove from oven and let cool completely on the baking sheet. Break apart and store in an airtight container.
