These skewers are not only delicious but also make for a beautiful and refreshing appetizer, perfect for any occasion. Easy to prepare and full of flavor, Caprese Skewers are ideal for summer parties, BBQs, or as a light snack!

Ingredients

  • 1 pint cherry or grape tomatoes
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini or ciliegine)
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp balsamic glaze or balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Wooden or metal skewers

Instructions

  • Thread one cherry tomato, followed by a fresh basil leaf, and then a mozzarella ball onto each skewer. Repeat until the skewer is full, leaving a little space at the ends for easy handling.
  • Arrange the finished skewers on a serving platter.
  • Drizzle the olive oil and balsamic glaze over the skewers.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve immediately, or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • For an extra touch of flavor, you can marinate the mozzarella balls in olive oil, garlic, and herbs for about an hour before assembling the skewers.
  • If balsamic glaze is not available, you can reduce balsamic vinegar in a saucepan until it thickens to a syrupy consistency.
  • These can be made ahead of time and refrigerated, but it’s best to drizzle the balsamic glaze just before serving for optimal freshness.
