This Cheesy Garlic Bread is the ultimate comfort food! Fresh, crispy bread topped with a rich garlic butter sauce and melted cheese. Perfect for pairing with your favorite Italian dishes or simply enjoyed as a savory snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of French bread or Italian baguette
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
  • Prepare the Garlic Butter:
In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, fresh parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well until fully combined and the garlic is evenly distributed in the butter.
  • Slice the Bread:
Slice the French bread or baguette in half lengthwise, then cut into individual pieces (optional). If you prefer smaller pieces, cut the bread into thick slices.
  • Spread the Garlic Butter:
Spread the garlic butter mixture generously over the cut sides of the bread. Make sure the butter is spread evenly over the entire surface for maximum flavor.
  • Add the Cheese:
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the buttered bread, followed by the grated Parmesan cheese. You can adjust the amount of cheese to your liking for extra gooeyness!
  • Bake the Cheesy Garlic Bread:
Place the bread halves on the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the bread are golden and crispy.
  • Serve:
Once out of the oven, let the bread cool for a minute, then slice it into individual servings. Garnish with a little extra chopped parsley, if desired.

Notes

  • For a garlic kick, you can add more garlic to the butter mixture or even sprinkle some garlic powder over the cheese.
  • For extra flavor, sprinkle a pinch of red pepper flakes or Italian seasoning over the cheese before baking.
  • To make it even cheesier, feel free to add a mix of cheeses, such as cheddar or provolone
