Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks are soft, fluffy, and loaded with cheesy, garlicky goodness. Made with a simple homemade dough and topped with melted mozzarella and parmesan cheese, they make the perfect side or appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups warm water
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Optional: dried parsley or Italian seasoning for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 500°F (260°C). Grease a 13×18-inch baking sheet or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, instant yeast, sugar, and salt. Let sit for 2–3 minutes.
  3. Add flour gradually, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Let dough rest for 5 minutes, then roll out onto the prepared baking sheet to cover the pan.
  5. Mix melted butter with garlic powder and brush over the rolled-out dough.
  6. Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheese evenly over the top. Add optional herbs if desired.
  7. Use a pizza cutter to score breadsticks into desired size before baking.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden brown.
  9. Let cool slightly, then re-cut breadsticks and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra crispy edges, bake on the lower oven rack.
  • Can be made ahead and reheated in the oven.
  • Serve with marinara sauce for dipping.
  • Use pre-made pizza dough for quicker prep.
