Ingredients

  • Dark chocolate (for the mousse and shell)
  • Heavy cream
  • Eggs
  • Sugar
  • Lemon zest
  • Lemon juice
  • Gelatin sheets (optional)
  • Butter

Instructions

  • Prepare the Chocolate Shell:
    Melt dark chocolate and pour it into a dome mold. Rotate the mold to coat the inside completely. Freeze to set the chocolate shell.
  • Make the Lemon Mousse:
    Whisk egg yolks and sugar until pale. Add lemon juice and zest, then gently heat until thickened. Add gelatin (if using) and let it cool. Fold in whipped cream and gently mix.
  • Assemble the Dome:
    Once the chocolate shell has set, fill it with the lemon mousse mixture. Freeze again until fully set.
  • Finish the Dome:
    Gently remove the mousse dome from the mold and decorate with more melted chocolate or lemon zest before serving.

Notes

  • If you prefer a stronger lemon flavor, you can add more lemon zest or juice.
  • Gelatin helps set the mousse, but it can be omitted for a softer texture.
  • Make sure the chocolate shell is completely set before filling it with mousse.
