These easy chocolate-dipped strawberries are a delicious and elegant treat, perfect for Valentine’s Day, parties, or as a romantic dessert. With just a few ingredients and simple steps, you can create gourmet-style strawberries at home.

Ingredients

  • 250g/8.8oz strawberries (around 1820 medium-sized)
  • 150g/5.3oz dark chocolate (around 70% cocoa), chopped
  • White chocolate (optional, for drizzling or decoration)
  • Sprinkles, edible glitter, crushed nuts or freeze-dried berries (optional for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the strawberries. Make sure there’s no moisture on them or the chocolate won’t stick well.
  2. Place a sheet of parchment paper or non-stick baking paper on a tray or board.
  3. Melt the dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second bursts, stirring in between, or use a double boiler method until fully melted and smooth.
  4. Hold each strawberry by the green top and dip it into the melted chocolate, swirling to coat evenly. Let excess chocolate drip off.
  5. Place the dipped strawberries onto the prepared tray. If desired, sprinkle with nuts, glitter, or sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet.
  6. If using white chocolate, melt it and drizzle over the dipped strawberries for a decorative touch.
  7. Allow the strawberries to set at room temperature or place in the fridge for faster setting (around 10-15 minutes).
  8. Once set, serve immediately or store in the fridge for up to 1 day.

Notes

  • Make sure strawberries are completely dry before dipping or the chocolate will seize.
  • Use high-quality chocolate for the best taste and texture.
  • These are best eaten the same day for freshness.
  • You can use different types of chocolate like milk or white depending on your preference.
