Ingredients

  • 1 loaf brioche or thick white bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk (or half-and-half for richer flavor)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for cooking)
  • For coating:

Instructions

  • In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, 2 tablespoons sugar, vanilla, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and salt.
  • Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt butter.
  • Dip bread cubes into the egg mixture, turning to coat evenly.
  • Cook in batches, turning often, until golden brown on all sides (about 4–5 minutes).
  • In a small bowl, mix 1/2 cup sugar with 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
  • Toss warm French toast bites in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until coated.
  • Serve warm with maple syrup, chocolate sauce, or fresh fruit.

  • You can prepare the coating mixture ahead of time for faster serving.
  • Great for parties — serve with toothpicks and dipping sauces.
