  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 5 eggs (separated)

  2. Add the egg yolks, whiskey, and vanilla extract, mixing until thoroughly blended.
  3. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the sifted dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk.
  5. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  6. Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the batter.
  7. Grease and flour a cake pan, then pour in the batter.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 1 hour.
  9. Unmold the cake while still warm and let it cool completely.

Notes

  • Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature for best results.
  • The whiskey adds a subtle depth of flavor, but can be omitted if preferred.
  • Use a toothpick to check for doneness—if it comes out clean, the cake is ready.
