Ingredients

  • 1 tin (397g) sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup (110g) unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup (40g) brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups (180g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¾ cup (135g) chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a 9″x9″ baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a medium saucepan, melt butter and sweetened condensed milk together over low heat.
  • Remove from heat; stir in brown sugar and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  • Add flour and baking powder, stirring until just combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake 20–25 minutes until edges are set and center has a slight wobble.
  • Cool in pan before slicing into squares.

Notes

  • For extra chewy texture, refrigerate blondies after baking and slicing.
  • Add nuts or dried fruit for extra flavor and texture if desired.
  • Make sure butter and condensed milk are melted together to prevent separation.
