Looking for crispy, golden chicken tenders that are healthier? Try these Crispy Parmesan Air Fryer Chicken Tenders. Made with a light coating of parmesan and breadcrumbs, they’re perfectly crispy without deep frying. Ideal for a quick family dinner or a crunchy snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken tenders (about 8 pieces)
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • Olive oil spray (or cooking spray)

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a shallow dish, combine panko breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  • Dip each chicken tender into the beaten eggs, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  • Roll the egg-coated chicken tenders in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to make sure they are evenly coated.
  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil.
  • Place the breaded chicken tenders in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each piece for air circulation.
  • Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the tenders are golden brown and crispy on the outside, and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, you can use a mixture of breadcrumbs and crushed cornflakes.
  • If your air fryer basket is small, cook the tenders in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  • You can substitute the parmesan with a different hard cheese like Romano for a unique flavor twist.
