Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
4 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese or Monterey Jack
2–3 tablespoons sliced jalapeños (fresh or pickled)
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Optional: Dipping sauces such as ranch, sriracha mayo, or honey mustard
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese, shredded cheese, jalapeños, and garlic powder until smooth.
Roll out thawed puff pastry to about 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into 2-inch wide strips.
Spoon filling onto one half of each strip. Fold over and twist several times to seal and shape.
Place twists on the prepared baking sheet. Brush tops with beaten egg.
Bake for 15–20 minutes or until puffed, golden brown, and the cheese is melted.
Serve warm with your choice of dipping sauces.
Notes
Customize spice level by adjusting jalapeños or using pickled ones.
Keep puff pastry cold for best results and flaky texture.
Great make-ahead snack—assemble and chill before baking.
Add cooked sausage or turkey for a meaty variation.
Try pepper jack cheese for more heat or Monterey Jack for a milder taste.
