Indulge in these delightful Oreo Balls, a no-bake treat made without cream cheese or sweetened condensed milk. With just four simple ingredients—Oreo cookies, butter, milk, and chocolate—you can create these rich and decadent truffles in no time. Perfect for any occasion, these bite-sized desserts offer a smooth, chocolate-coated exterior with a luscious Oreo-infused center, making them an irresistible addition to your dessert repertoire.

Ingredients

  • 30 (340g) regular Oreo cookies
  • 3 tablespoons (45g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
  • 2 to 5 tablespoons milk
  • 8 ounces (225g) dark, semi-sweet, or white chocolate, about 1½ cups chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Oreo Mixture: In a food processor, grind the Oreo cookies (including the filling) into fine crumbs. Add melted butter and 2 tablespoons of milk; pulse until the mixture is well-moistened and holds together when pressed. If necessary, add more milk gradually to achieve the desired consistency.
  • Form the Balls: Scoop 1-tablespoon portions of the mixture and roll into smooth balls. If the mixture is too sticky, refrigerate until firm enough to handle. Place the balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Chill: Refrigerate the Oreo balls for at least 15 minutes, or until firm.
  • Coat with Chocolate: Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl or over a double boiler until smooth. If using, stir in the vegetable oil to thin the chocolate and add shine. Allow the melted chocolate to cool slightly. Dip each chilled Oreo ball into the chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Use a fork to lift the ball, letting excess chocolate drip off, and place it back on the parchment-lined sheet.
  • Set the Coating: Refrigerate the coated Oreo balls until the chocolate is set.

Notes

  • Storage: Store the Oreo balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
  • Chocolate Tips: For best results, use high-quality baking or couverture chocolate for melting. Adding a small amount of vegetable oil can help achieve a smoother, shinier finish.
