Ingredients
1 lb (500g) ground beef
1 tbsp olive oil
1 onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup sliced mushrooms
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1½ cups beef stock
1 cup sour cream
3 cups cooked pasta (penne or fusilli work well)
1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, draining any excess fat.
-
Add the finely chopped onion, minced garlic, and sliced mushrooms. Cook for about 5 minutes, until the onions are softened.
-
Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and beef stock. Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes to allow flavors to combine.
-
Reduce the heat and stir in sour cream. Mix everything until smooth and heated through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
-
Add the cooked pasta and mix until everything is well combined.
-
Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with shredded cheese.
-
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
-
Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, and serve hot.
Notes
-
You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
-
Mix in additional vegetables like spinach or bell peppers for extra flavor and nutrients.
-
Feel free to use a combination of cheeses such as mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan for a richer taste.
