Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • ½ cup tomato sauce
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Optional toppings: pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt in a large bowl. Add warm water and olive oil, then knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
  2. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise for about an hour until doubled in size.
  3. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to desired thickness and shape.
  5. Spread tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a border for the crust.
  6. Top with mozzarella cheese and your selected toppings.
  7. Transfer pizza to a baking sheet or pizza stone. Bake for 12–15 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
  8. Let the pizza cool slightly, slice, and enjoy hot.

Notes

  • You can prepare the dough up to 24 hours ahead and refrigerate it.
  • For a crispier crust, bake on a preheated pizza stone or sheet.
