Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade)
  • ¾ cup water
  • 1 bag tortilla chips
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican blend)
  • 1 cup black beans, drained and rinsed
  • ½ cup diced red onion
  • ½ cup sliced jalapeños (optional)
  • ½ cup diced tomatoes or salsa
  • ¼ cup sliced black olives (optional)
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro (optional)
  • Sour cream, guacamole, and/or salsa for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Add taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  • On a large baking sheet or oven-safe platter, spread out tortilla chips.
  • Evenly layer seasoned beef, black beans, and shredded cheese over the chips.
  • Add optional toppings like red onion, jalapeños, tomatoes, and olives.
  • Bake in the oven for 8–10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove and garnish with cilantro. Serve with sour cream, salsa, or guacamole
