These easy flax seed crackers are crunchy, nutty, and packed with wholesome seeds. They bake into a crisp sheet that snaps easily into healthy homemade crackers.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flax seeds
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 3/4 cup pumpkin seeds (pepitas)
  • 3/4 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 cup hemp seeds
  • Pinch salt
  • Olive oil, for brushing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lightly brush the parchment with a thin layer of olive oil.
  2. In a bowl, combine the flax seeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds, salt, and warm water. Stir well to mix. Let the mixture sit for 10–15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes, until the flax seeds form a gel that binds everything together.
  3. Spread the mixture evenly onto the prepared baking sheet in a thin layer covering the surface. The thinner the layer, the crispier the crackers will be. Lightly brush the top with more olive oil.
  4. Bake for 25–35 minutes, or until the mixture is firm and lightly golden around the edges.
  5. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely so the crackers crisp up. Once cooled, break or snap into cracker-sized pieces and serve.

Notes

  • You can add seasonings such as garlic powder, paprika, rosemary, or sesame seeds for extra flavor.
  • Spreading the mixture thinner will produce crispier crackers.
  • Store cooled crackers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
  • Serve with hummus, dips, or cheese alternatives.
