This pull-apart garlic bread is soft, buttery, and packed with garlicky herb flavor. It’s made with simple ingredients and baked until golden brown, perfect as a side dish or appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Italian bread or French bread
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the loaf of bread in a crisscross pattern, being careful not to cut all the way through.
  3. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, garlic, parsley, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Use a spoon or brush to drizzle the garlic butter mixture into the cracks of the bread.
  5. Stuff shredded mozzarella and Parmesan into the cuts if using cheese.
  6. Wrap the loaf in foil and place it on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 15–20 minutes, until cheese is melted and bread is heated through.
  8. Unwrap and bake for an additional 5 minutes to crisp the top.
  9. Serve warm and pull apart pieces to enjoy.

Notes

  • You can substitute dried parsley if fresh is unavailable.
  • For extra spice, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the butter mixture.
  • Best served immediately while warm and gooey.
  • Can be made ahead and reheated in the oven.
