Tender beef cooked in a rich garlic butter sauce, balanced with the sweetness of honey and the smoky depth of BBQ sauce, creates an unforgettable taco experience. Perfect for taco night or a casual meal with family and friends!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 tsp chili powder (optional for extra heat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 small flour or corn tortillas
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese (optional)
  • Lime wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through (about 6-8 minutes).
  • Once the beef is cooked, drain any excess fat. Stir in the honey and BBQ sauce, and sprinkle with chili powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
  • Simmer the beef mixture on low heat for an additional 3-5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Warm the tortillas in a separate skillet or microwave.
  • Spoon the BBQ beef mixture into each tortilla and top with shredded cheese (if desired).
  • Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges on the side.

Notes

  • You can use any type of ground beef or even ground turkey for a lighter option.
  • For a spicy kick, add some sliced jalapeños on top.
  • If you prefer a smoky flavor, use smoked BBQ sauce for an extra layer of taste.
