Ingredients

  • 1 loaf white bread, crusts removed and cubed
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Spread the bread cubes on a baking sheet and bake for 10–15 minutes, or until lightly toasted.
  • In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add celery and onion, cooking until softened.
  • In a large bowl, combine toasted bread, sautéed vegetables, eggs, salt, pepper, sage, thyme, and chicken broth. Mix thoroughly.
  • Shape mixture into golf ball-sized balls and place on a baking sheet.
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy on the outside.

Notes
