These homemade chicken nuggets are crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and bursting with flavor. Perfect for a family meal or a kid-friendly snack, these golden bites are easy to make and much healthier than store-bought options.

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 cups breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and set aside.
  2. In a shallow bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.
  4. Place the breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  5. Dredge each chicken piece in the flour mixture, then dip in the egg mixture, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
  6. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot over medium-high heat.
  7. Fry the nuggets in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 4–5 minutes per batch.
  8. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  9. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For extra crispy nuggets, use panko breadcrumbs.
  • You can bake or air fry instead of deep frying for a healthier version.
  • Marinate chicken in buttermilk for a few hours for added tenderness.
