This hot apple cider is a comforting, spiced beverage perfect for chilly days and festive gatherings. Made with apple cider and a blend of warm spices, it’s easy to prepare and fills your home with a delightful aroma.

Ingredients

  • 1 quart apple cider
  • 1 tablespoon whole cloves
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Orange slices (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine the apple cider, cloves, brown sugar, allspice, salt, cinnamon sticks, and nutmeg.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  4. Remove from heat and strain to remove cloves and cinnamon sticks.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with orange slices if desired.
