Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves (packed)
  • 1/2 cup olive oil (or more as needed)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the basil leaves thoroughly.
  2. Add the basil to a food processor or blender.
  3. Slowly add olive oil while blending until the mixture reaches a paste-like consistency.
  4. Spoon the basil and oil mixture into an ice cube tray.
  5. Freeze for several hours or overnight until solid.
  6. Transfer the frozen basil cubes to a freezer-safe bag or container for long-term storage.
  7. Use basil cubes as needed in soups, sauces, or sautés.

Notes

  • Use a neutral or mild olive oil for best flavor balance.
