Light, flaky, and perfectly zesty, this Lemon Puff Pastry recipe combines buttery layers with a fresh lemon filling for an irresistible treat. Perfect for breakfast or a sweet snack, this easy-to-make dessert brings together the rich flavor of puff pastry and the bright citrusy tang of lemon.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup lemon curd (or homemade lemon curd)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, for sprinkling)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut into squares or rectangles (approximately 3-4 inches per piece).
  • Place a teaspoon of lemon curd in the center of each pastry square.
  • Fold the pastry into a triangle or rectangle shape, pressing the edges to seal.
  • Whisk the egg and brush it over the surface of the pastry for a golden finish.
  • Optionally, sprinkle a little sugar over the top for extra sweetness and crunch.
  • Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden and crisp.
  • Let the pastries cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar (if desired). Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • You can use store-bought lemon curd for convenience or make your own.
  • These pastries are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of lemon curd based on your preference for tanginess.
