These olive puffs are a delicious and easy appetizer featuring savory olives wrapped in a cheesy, buttery pastry dough. Perfect for parties or as a snack, they bake up golden and flaky with a tangy olive surprise inside.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 24 pimento-stuffed green olives, drained

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together flour, butter, and Cheddar cheese to form a dough.
  3. Take a small amount of dough and flatten it in your hand. Place one olive in the center and wrap the dough around it to completely cover the olive. Repeat with the remaining dough and olives.
  4. Place the wrapped olives on an ungreased baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the pastry is lightly browned.
  6. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • You can chill the dough slightly if it’s too soft to handle.
