A flavorful oven-baked salmon fillet brushed with garlic butter and seasoned to perfection. This simple recipe delivers a tender, flaky main dish in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 (2-pound) whole salmon fillet (skin-on preferred)
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter (or olive oil)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • Ground black pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Place a large piece of foil on a rimmed baking sheet and set the salmon fillet on top, skin side down. Crimp the edges of the foil to form a boat around the salmon.
  2. In a small bowl, combine melted butter and minced garlic. Brush half of the mixture over the salmon.
  3. In another bowl, mix brown sugar, Italian seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Evenly sprinkle over the salmon, then drizzle with the remaining garlic butter.
  4. Bake for 15–22 minutes, depending on desired doneness. Optionally baste with juices halfway through cooking.
  5. Remove from oven, let rest for 5 minutes, then serve.

Notes

  • For best texture, cook until internal temperature reaches 125–130°F for medium or 140°F for well done.
  • Olive oil can be used instead of butter for a lighter option.
  • Serve with roasted vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
