Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, these Parmesan Garlic Potato Balls are packed with cheesy, garlicky flavor. Perfect as an appetizer, snack, or side dish, they are golden-fried to perfection and served best with your favorite dipping sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups mashed potatoes (about 3 medium potatoes)
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine mashed potatoes, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, parsley, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix well.
  2. Shape the mixture into small balls, about 1 to 1½ inches in diameter.
  3. Place flour, beaten egg, and breadcrumbs into three separate bowls.
  4. Roll each potato ball in flour, dip into the egg, then coat thoroughly with breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry the potato balls in batches for 2–3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Ensure mashed potatoes are not too wet to prevent the balls from falling apart.
  • You can bake at 400°F (200°C) for 18–20 minutes for a lighter option.
  • Add shredded mozzarella inside each ball for a cheesy center.
  • Best served fresh and hot for maximum crispiness.
