Indulge in the rich flavors of Pecan Caramel Baklava Cups—a delightful fusion of flaky phyllo pastry, crunchy pecans, and a luscious caramel filling. These bite-sized treats offer a modern twist on the classic baklava, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 12 mini phyllo pastry shells
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place phyllo shells on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, butter, and heavy cream. Stir until sugars dissolve and mixture thickens.
  • Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Add chopped pecans and mix evenly.
  • Spoon pecan mixture into each phyllo shell.
  • Bake 15-20 minutes until filling bubbles and pastry is golden brown.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For deeper caramel flavor, add 1 tablespoon bourbon to the caramel.
  • Make sure caramel is not too hot when adding pecans to avoid sogginess.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature up to 3 days.
