Soft chicken and broccoli nuggets that are easy for babies and toddlers to eat. These baked nuggets are packed with protein and vegetables and make a simple, family-friendly meal or snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked chicken breast, finely chopped or shredded
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped steamed broccoli
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon finely minced onion
  • Pinch of mild seasoning or herbs (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Steam the broccoli until tender, then finely chop it so it mixes easily with the chicken.
  3. In a bowl, combine the chopped chicken, broccoli, breadcrumbs, egg, cheese, minced onion, and optional mild seasoning.
  4. Mix well until the ingredients form a soft mixture that holds together.
  5. Scoop small portions and shape them into nugget-sized pieces.
  6. Place the nuggets on the prepared baking sheet and lightly brush or drizzle with olive oil.
  7. Bake for 15–18 minutes, turning halfway through, until the nuggets are lightly golden and cooked through.
  8. Allow the nuggets to cool slightly before serving to babies or toddlers.

Notes

  • For younger babies, chop or mash the nuggets into smaller pieces before serving.
  • You can replace cheddar with mozzarella or omit the cheese if preferred.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Nuggets can be frozen for up to 2 months and reheated in the oven.
