This Seasoned White Rice is fluffy, aromatic, and packed with flavor! Made with simple pantry ingredients like garlic, onion, and broth, this easy side dish pairs perfectly with a variety of meals. Whether you’re serving it with chicken, seafood, or veggies, this flavorful rice is a must-try!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white rice (long-grain or jasmine)
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth (or water)
  • 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika (optional, for color and mild flavor)

Instructions

  • Rinse the Rice – Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. This helps remove excess starch for fluffy rice.
  • Sauté for Flavor – In a medium saucepan, heat butter or olive oil over medium heat. Add the rice and stir for 1-2 minutes until lightly toasted.
  • Add Seasonings – Pour in the broth (or water), then add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Stir well.
  • Simmer & Cook – Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 15-18 minutes until the liquid is absorbed.
  • Let It Rest – Remove from heat and let the rice sit, covered, for 5 minutes.
  • Fluff & Serve – Fluff the rice with a fork, garnish with dried parsley, and serve warm!

Notes

  • For extra richness, use a mix of butter and olive oil.
  • Add a squeeze of lemon juice for a fresh, bright flavor.
  • Mix in cooked veggies like peas, carrots, or bell peppers for added nutrition.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
