Garlic Shrimp Crostini with Avocado is a delicious bite-sized appetizer combining garlicky shrimp, creamy avocado, and crispy baguette slices. It’s elegant, easy to make, and perfect for entertaining or enjoying as a light snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 baguette, sliced into thin rounds
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 12 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 ripe avocado, mashed
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush lightly with olive oil. Bake for 6–8 minutes until golden and crisp.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the shrimp, season with salt and black pepper, and cook for 2–3 minutes on each side or until pink and cooked through.
  4. Drizzle the cooked shrimp with lemon juice and remove from heat.
  5. Spread a layer of mashed avocado over each toasted crostini.
  6. Top with one or two garlic shrimp and garnish with chopped parsley or cilantro.
  7. Serve immediately while warm and crispy.

Notes

  • Add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Use scallops or crab instead of shrimp for variation.
  • Mix avocado with lime juice and tomato for a guacamole-style spread.
  • Top with balsamic glaze or garlic aioli for extra flavor.
  • For gluten-free, use gluten-free bread or crackers.
