Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or as a snack, they’re crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Ready in just 30 minutes, these banana fritters are a crowd-pleasing recipe for banana lovers.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar (optional for dusting)

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. The batter should be thick.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a little vegetable oil.
  • Once the oil is hot, spoon the batter into the skillet, forming small fritters.
  • Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  • Dust with powdered sugar before serving (optional).

Notes

  • For a fluffier texture, you can add a bit more milk if the batter feels too thick.
  • If you prefer a healthier option, try using whole wheat flour or substituting sugar with honey.
  • You can also add chocolate chips or chopped nuts to the batter for extra flavor.
