These Spiced Pear Muffins are soft, moist, and bursting with warm spices and juicy pear chunks. Perfect for a cozy breakfast or snack, they are easy to make and full of comforting flavors.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups diced ripe pears (about 2 medium pears, peeled and cored)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease it.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, sour cream, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the diced pears.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups, filling each about 3/4 full.
  7. Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the muffins cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Use ripe but firm pears for best texture.
  • You can substitute sour cream with Greek yogurt if needed.
  • Store muffins in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
