Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp water
  • Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry and cut into rectangles (about 4-6 pieces).
  4. Score a smaller rectangle inside each piece without cutting all the way through, to create a border.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture inside the scored area.
  6. Top with sliced strawberries.
  7. Whisk the egg and water together to make an egg wash, and brush the edges of the pastry.
  8. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden and puffed.
  9. Cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.
