Sweet chili halloumi wraps are quick, flavorful vegetarian wraps filled with golden pan-fried halloumi, crisp vegetables, and a drizzle of sweet chili sauce. They make a satisfying lunch or light dinner with a balance of salty, sweet, and fresh flavors.

Ingredients

  • 225 g halloumi cheese, sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 4 large tortilla wraps
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium carrot, grated
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise or yogurt sauce
  • Fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice the halloumi into even strips or slabs about 1/2 inch thick.
  2. Heat olive oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the halloumi slices and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and slightly crispy.
  4. Drizzle sweet chili sauce over the halloumi in the pan and toss gently to coat, warming for about 30 seconds.
  5. Warm the tortilla wraps briefly in a dry pan or microwave until soft.
  6. Layer lettuce, cucumber, grated carrot, and avocado across the center of each wrap.
  7. Place the warm sweet chili halloumi on top of the vegetables.
  8. Add a drizzle of mayonnaise or yogurt sauce and sprinkle with fresh herbs if using.
  9. Fold the sides in and roll the wrap tightly. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Halloumi browns quickly, so keep an eye on it to prevent burning.
  • Add sliced red onion, tomato, or bell pepper for extra crunch and flavor.
  • Greek yogurt mixed with lemon juice makes a lighter alternative to mayonnaise.
  • Serve with fries, salad, or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
  • Best enjoyed immediately while the halloumi is warm and crispy.
