Make your own Taco Bell Wild Sauce at home with this bold, spicy, and tangy copycat recipe! This homemade hot sauce is perfect for adding a fiery kick to tacos, burritos, nachos, and more.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot or Louisiana)
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine all ingredients. Stir well.
  2. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally. Let it cook for about 10-15 minutes until thickened.
  3. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
  4. Blend the sauce (if desired) for a smoother consistency.
  5. Transfer to a jar or squeeze bottle and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • Adjust the cayenne pepper and red pepper flakes for more or less heat.
  • For a smokier taste, add chipotle powder or smoked paprika.
  • Use apple cider vinegar instead of white vinegar for a slightly different tang.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, add a teaspoon of cornstarch mixed with water.
