Indulge in the rich and decadent flavor of this Chocolate Turtle Pie. A perfect dessert for any occasion, featuring a silky chocolate filling, crunchy pecans, and a sweet caramel drizzle, all encased in a buttery pie crust. This easy-to-make recipe is sure to impress your guests!

Ingredients

  • 1 pre-made graham cracker or pie crust (or homemade if desired)
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (plus extra for drizzling)
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/4 cup butter (for caramel sauce)
  • 2 tbsp light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Prepare the Crust: If you’re using a pre-made crust, skip this step. For a homemade crust, combine crushed graham crackers with melted butter, press into a pie dish, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes.
  • Make the Caramel Sauce: In a small saucepan, combine butter, corn syrup, and a pinch of salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the butter is melted and the mixture comes to a simmer. Let it bubble for about 2 minutes and then remove from heat. Stir in vanilla extract.
  • Melt the Chocolate: In another saucepan, heat heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate chips until melted and smooth.
  • Assemble the Pie: Pour a thin layer of caramel sauce over the pie crust. Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the caramel. Then, pour the melted chocolate over the top, spreading evenly to cover the pecans.
  • Chill: Refrigerate the pie for at least 4 hours, or until it sets completely.
  • Serve: Drizzle with extra caramel sauce before serving. Slice and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can substitute the caramel sauce with homemade caramel if desired for an extra indulgent touch.
  • If you want to make the pie ahead of time, it can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • For a more decadent flavor, top with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream when serving.
