Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
2 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
1 red bell pepper, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup beef broth
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
6 slices provolone cheese
Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion, green bell pepper, and red bell pepper. Sauté until vegetables are soft, about 5 minutes.
Add minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Add ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spoon.
Drain excess grease from the skillet.
Reduce heat to low and stir in the cream cheese, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until everything is well combined and creamy.
Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
Top evenly with provolone cheese slices.
Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from oven, garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and serve hot.
Notes
For a spicier version, add some chopped jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce.
You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey for a leaner option.
This dish is great for meal prep and reheats well.
