A simple and moist banana bread made with just four ingredients, perfect for a quick homemade treat. Naturally sweet and easy to prepare, it’s great for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe bananas (smashed (about 2 cups smashed))
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • 2 cups self-rising flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 5 x 9 inch bread pan with nonstick spray or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the bananas thoroughly using a fork or pastry blender.
  3. Add the eggs and brown sugar to the mashed bananas and mix until well combined.
  4. Add the self-rising flour and stir until just incorporated. Do not overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 45–55 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
  6. Let the bread cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then remove and cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas for the best sweetness and flavor.
  • Avoid overmixing to keep the bread soft and tender.
  • Store covered at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for longer freshness.
  • You can add nuts or chocolate chips for variation.
