  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups fresh apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 12 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a medium bowl.
  3. In a large bowl, stir the melted butter and brown sugar together until smooth.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined.
  6. Fold the diced apples gently into the batter.
  7. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  8. Bake for about 25 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Cool the blondies completely.
  10. Whisk together the powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, and optional vanilla until smooth.
  11. Drizzle or spread the glaze over the cooled blondies.
  12. Allow the glaze to set before slicing into 16 bars and serving.
