Ingredients

  • For the Beef:
  • 1 lb steak (flank or sirloin)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp ginger powder
  • For the Stir-Fry:
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup diced onions
  • 1/8 cup diced garlic
  • 1/8 cup diced ginger
  • 16 oz noodles (spaghetti or lo mein)
  • 16 oz broccoli florets
  • For the Sauce:
  • 3/4 cup low-sodium dark soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup honey (or brown sugar)
  • 1/2 cup oyster sauce
  • 1/8 cup rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp browning (optional)
  • For the Cornstarch Slurry:
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions

  • Cook Noodles: Cook noodles according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
  • Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, and rice vinegar. In another bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry, then slowly combine with the soy sauce mixture.
  • Season Beef: Coat beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, rice vinegar, and ginger.
  • Cook Beef: Heat sesame oil in a wok over high heat. Sear the beef until cooked to your liking, then remove it from the wok.
  • Stir-Fry Vegetables: In the same wok, sauté onions, garlic, and ginger. Add broccoli and noodles, and stir-fry on high heat.
  • Combine Ingredients: Gradually add the sauce to the stir-fry, mixing well to coat all ingredients.
  • Finish: Add the beef back in, stir everything together, and cook for a few more minutes.
  • Serve: Serve hot and enjoy!
